Ragg trained Salamar in a the classic skills of the grift (roping and cooling the mark, blowing off) and taught him most of basic confidence tricks. Salmar proved to have a flair for the con, and worked a number of short cons, before he and Ragg were offered a part in a big store con, against a Hutt crime lord in the Outer Rim.

The grift was successful and they cleared a small profit. They continued to work the Outer Rim, and it was the that Salamar began to learn the Empire of Zim, and his legendary treasure ship the Queen of Rangoon. Salamar became obsessed with the story, and is determined to uncover the clues that will allow him to find Xim’s ship, and the location of his treasures.

With the recent turmoil and the rise of the Empire, Salamar and Ragg hit on a scam of pretending to be Jedi, in order to steal information and wealth for people. The scam was helped by Slamar’s developing force powers. Of course as galactic opinion turned against the Jedi, Ragg and Salamar dissolved their partnership and what their separate ways. But not before Salamar’s scam and force talent attracted the attention of the Jedi Master Rom Kota. Figuring he could use the young Clawdite’s talents, he brought him to Dantooine for training as an agent of the fledgling Rebelion.
